You can now rent a Bavarian Royal Residence with hotel services

Three centuries ago Nymphenburg Palace was the main summer residence of the Bavarian rulers, a Baroque castle surrounded by 490 acres of parkland five miles west of Munich. Over the years, residences of the same style have been added to the estate and last month one of them opened for private rental after two years of renovation. But it’s not just a private villa rental. Part of Langham residences, the alternative hotel program for luxury hotels Langham Hotel Group, the Langham Nymphenburg Residence includes hotel services as part of the experience.

The 9,000 square feet 18e The mansion of the century features four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, three living rooms for guests to stretch out, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a fitness center, a conference room, a home theater and a cellar. wine. The overall design – contemporary accessorized by traditional elements – was coordinated by the Munich company Mang Mauritz Conception with furniture from Walter Knoll and Donghia, lighting including crystal chandeliers and flower-shaped wall lights from the Zurich firm Lichtkompetenz, textiles by the Thai silk specialist Jim thompson, silk carpet by Jan Kath and porcelain tableware, crockery and works of art from local artisans Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg.

The dining room, which directly overlooks Nymphenburg Palace, also has a Lindsey Adelman brushed gold chandelier combined with the finest porcelain from Nymphenburg and two statues of Damien hirst as additions to the decor. Even the bathrooms are serious design bastions: some have whimsical elements like those designed to resemble safari decor and an aquarium; others have absolute royal decorum like the Royal Bavarian Spa with 24k gold detailing on paintings from other Bavarian castles.

Hotel services begin at the airport with limousine service from arrival to departure. On site staff can organize gondola rides on the Nymphenburg Canal, private tours of the castle, picnics in the residence gardens or ice skating when the river freezes. And the limousine is always available if customers need to travel to Munich for business or shopping.
